Paulette Tandy, Ph.D.

Department Chair

Dr. Paulette Tandy is the Chair of the Department of Accounting. She has been at UNLV since obtaining her Ph.D. at Texas A&M University. In addition to her administrative responsibilities, she primarily teaches in the auditing area, both external and internal auditing. She has always enjoyed classroom interactions and curriculum innovation and has won numerous teaching excellence awards, including the university-wide Spanos Distinguished Teaching Award and the UNLV Distinguished Teaching Award. Dr. Tandy's research interests lie in the areas of auditing, accounting education, and the accounting standard-setting process. She has published in a variety of academic and professional journals. In addition to teaching and research, she enjoys interaction with accounting students and she currently serves on the international Board of Directors for Beta Alpha Psi as the Director of Chapter Activities. She is a member of the NSCPA Board of Directors and serves on the Board of Governors for the Las Vegas Institute of Internal Auditors.
