UNLV Beta Gamma Sigma Chapter Named a 2008 Premier Chapter for the Scholarship Program
Beta Gamma Sigma, the honor society for business programs accredited by AACSB, The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International, has named UNLV one of its Premier Chapters for 2008. Membership in Beta Gamma Sigma is the highest recognition a business student anywhere in the world can receive in an undergraduate or masters program at an AACSB accredited school, and being a Premier Chapter means having a better than 85-percent membership acceptance rate. The mission of Beta Gamma Sigma is to encourage and honor academic achievement in the study of business and personal and professional excellence in the practice of business. Each of UNLVs recent inductees has exhibited outstanding scholarship at either the graduate or undergraduate levels, and all have a grade point average of 3.71 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Beta Gamma Sigma has inducted more than 580,000 qualified students to membership since its founding in 1913. These members have served in corporate, government, non-profit, educational, and other management positions. Members currently reside in all 50 states and more than 160 countries around the world.
