MBA Students Claim First Place at Best Strategy Invitational
For the first time in nearly a decade, College of Business MBA students claimed first place in the recent Best-Strategy-Invitational (BSI) competition. The global competition features high-performing BSG-Online companies all over the world, and each team must be invited to compete.

Known as the "Top Gun" of business strategy competition, the MBA students had to win a preliminary competition here at UNLV in order to be invited to participate in the BSI competition. Hosted and administered three times a year by the Business Strategy Game Online author team, the BSI competition is held over a two week period each April, August and September.

The Business Strategy Game is an on-line exercise where participants are divided into teams and assigned the task of running an athletic footwear company in head-to-head competition against companies managed by other class members. Company operations parallel those of actual athletic footwear companies. Just as in the real-world, companies compete in the global market arena, selling branded and private label athletic footwear in four geographic regionsEurope, North America, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America. MBA students Boris Katava, Blaine Krasky, Brian Levy, and Brett Myer, along with faculty advisor Darryl Seale in the Management department, competed against other top teams from all over the world, winning first place with their company called Itis Footwear.

The next competition will be held in August. For more information on the BSI competition, visit http://bsi.bsg-online.com/stats/BestStrategyInvitational.html
