| Center for Business and Economic Research Associate Director Earns High Praise for Dissertation |

Constant Tra, Ph.D., gained national recognition at the 2008 American Agricultural Economics Association Meetings with the Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award for 2008. His dissertation research award was for his work entitled: "Evaluating the Equilibrium Welfare Impacts on the 1990 Clean Air Act Amendments in the Los Angeles Area". Dr. Tra's research, evaluating the economic benefits of air quality improvements in the Los Angeles basin using a locational general equilibrium approach, was recently published in the Journal of Environmental Economics and Management.
Dr. Tra joined the Center for Business and Economic Research in August 2007. He received his doctorate in agricultural and resource economics from the University of Maryland. His research interests lie in the areas of environmental economics, natural resource economics, and urban and land use policy.
