| Inaugural Moskow Distinguished Speaker Series a Success |
 |
New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd and TV critic Alessandra Stanley kicked off the Moskow Distinguished Speaker Series Thursday, October 16 at UNLV. At a special breakfast meeting, the duo addressed members of the Executive Advisory Board, Dean's Associates, College of Business faculty, and faculty from the Hank Greenspun School of Journalism. They discussed the recent presidential debate, the upcoming election, and the media's influence on politics.

During the breakfast, Dean Paul Jarley recognized part-time management instructor, Jeffrey Moskow, who donated $1 million to the College of Business to create this series. It was Moskow's wish that Dowd and Stanley participate in the first series lecture. Moskow teaches "current business topics" in the College, where he instructs his students to read from the New York Times daily.

Ms. Dowd and Ms. Stanley then addressed a gathering of nearly 250 students and faculty in the Student Union theater, taking questions from the audience, and discussing current political issues.
