College of Business colleague named 2009 Woman of Distinction finalist
Congratulations to Dr. Janet Runge, who has been named as a 2009 Woman of Distinction Award finalist for the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), Southern Nevada Chapter.

Dr. Runge, who teaches entrepreneurship to undergraduates and MBA students at UNLV, holds an MBA from the University of New Orleans and completed her Ph.D. at Louisiana State University. At UNLV, Dr. Runge has been instrumental in the establishment of the Center for Entrepreneurship and has developed both the major and minor in entrepreneurship in the College of Business. Each year she works to increase visibility and participation in the Donald W. Reynolds Nevada Governors Cup Business Plan Competition and has served as faculty advisor for 29 UNLV teams. In 2008 her teams placed first in both the undergraduate and graduate categories, and she received the inaugural NCET Outstanding Faculty Advisor award.

Most recently Dr. Runge is implementing a new venture for the College: the Wells Fargo Global Entrepreneurs Experience. This new signature series will supplement a students major with a highly selective curriculum that combines immersive learning, leadership development, and global perspective with an entrepreneurial focus.
