Management Professor nominated for 2009 Nevada Regents' Teaching Award

Keah-Choon Tan, Ph.D., professor of management in the College of Business, was chosen by the UNLV Foundation Distinguished Teaching Award Committee to be UNLV's nominee for the 2009 Nevada Regents' Teaching Award. In addition, Dr. Tan will receive the UNLV Foundation Distinguished Teaching Award.

"The number one goal in UNLV's strategic plan is a commitment to student learning, and the quality of Dr. Tan's portfolio shows his personal commitment to that goal," said Michael Bowers, senior vice president for Academic Affairs. "With this Distinguished Teaching Award, the university is able to echo the praise of many students who have been fortunate enough to take his classes and to say thank you for a job well done."

Along with the award, Dr. Tan will receive a $5,000 stipend and will be honored at the 2009 Academic Recognition Ceremony and Reception on Thursday, April 23 at 3:30 p.m. in the Ham Concert Hall Lobby.
