Stephen M. Miller, Ph.D.Department Chair |

Steve Miller, a tenured Professor of Economics and Department Chair in the College of Business at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), came to UNLV in June 2001. In coming to UNLV, he retired as a Professor of Economics and Department Head at the University of Connecticut (UConn), having served for 31 years at UConn. He also held visiting positions with the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston for the first half of 1978 and with the Congressional Budget Office for one year in 1987-88. His research interests span monetary, macroeconomic, and international finance theory and policy; international trade and applied microeconomic theory; financial institutions; and real estate lending. Over his career, he authored more than 100 professional journal articles and several research monographs, presented papers at professional conferences, universities, and other venues on more than 100 occasions, and refereed papers for more than 50 professional journals. Finally, he appeared in Whos Who in Economics, 4th edition by Blaug and Vane, Edward Elgar Publishing, 2003. This listing of economists includes the 1,200 most frequently cited economists from 1990 to 2000, using the Social Science Citation Index. |
