Bradley Brad Wimmer, Ph.D.

Associate Professor
Bradley S. Wimmer is an Associate Professor of Economics. Dr. Wimmer arrived at the UNLV in 1998. Prior to joining the faculty at UNLV, Dr. Wimmer worked at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in Washington D.C. While at the FCC, Brad served as the Chief Economist of the Bureau responsible for the regulation of interstate telecommunications, working primarily on issues related with the implementation of the Telecommunications Act of 1996. Brad has published numerous articles in professional journals, such as, Review of Economics and Statistics, Economic Inquiry, the Southern Economic Journal, Information, Economics and Policy and the Journal of Labor Research. Brads current research addresses issues related to telecommunications demand and the Telecommunications Act of 1996. In addition, Brad continues his work on the effects imperfect information and certification have on market outcomes. For his efforts, Brad was named the College of Businesss researcher of the year in 2001. Brad received his Ph. D. from the University of Kentucky in 1992.
