Welcome |
The increasing globalization of business creates a demand for executives equipped to apply business skills effectively in multiple cultural environments. Similarly, todays world-spanning communications technology means the entrepreneurial start-up may quite suddenly find itself with global business relationships. The International Business Major at the UNLV College of Business prepares students to respond to these opportunities. The program combines basic and specialized business education with language and cultural studies including the opportunity to study abroad and/or to participate in internships. With this structure, the major is perhaps the most broad-based and versatile offered by the college, allowing the student to focus on any functional area of business and any part of the world. Graduates have gone on to found their own export/import business, provide consulting services to multinational clients, and to pursue graduate study in international business, among many other activities. If you are drawn to a major that allows you to become familiar with another culture, to study the business consequences of globalization, and to acquire a practical business preparation, we invite you to learn more about International Business at UNLV.
Mel Jameson, Ph.D. Professor of Finance and Coordinator of International Business Programs
