Richard J. Arend, Ph.D.

Associate Professor

Dr. Arend is a professor of strategy and entrepreneurship in the Management Department. He had worked previously at NYUs Stern School of Business. His research explores unusual modes of firm value creation and destruction in new and incumbent ventures. His current interests include creative game playing, dynamic capabilities, and asset transfer mechanisms. He is published in a number of journals including the Strategic Management Journal, Organizational Behavior & Human Decision Processes, Journal of Business Venturing, Small Business Economics, and European Management Journal. He serves on the editorial board of Academy of Management Review and Journal of Management Inquiry, and on the academic advisory board of the Turnaround Management Association. He is the current holder of the College of Businesss Researcher of the Year Award.
