James (Jim) Cross, Ph.D.

Associate Professor
Dr. James Cross received his Ph. D. from the University of Minnesota. Prior to joining the UNLV faculty, he was on the faculty of Arizona State University and also served as a Visiting Professor at the University of Minnesota. He has published in a variety of scholarly journals such as Journal of Personal Selling and Sales Management. His research is focused on the areas of market segmentation and various aspects of franchising.


Professor Cross has served as Chair of the UNLV Department of Marketing on two occasions, first from 1990-1997 and again from 2003 to 2004. Additionally, he was MBA Director from 1996 to 1997. Significant service accomplishments have included chairing the College of Business Assessment Team from 1999-2006 and chairing the UNLV Academic Standards Commitee from 1999-2000.
