The Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) is a computer-adaptive test (CAT) which measures general verbal, mathematical and analytical writing skills. It is non-business specific and tests one's general verbal, mathematical and analytical writing skills. The GMAT is required of all applicants.

If attempting to meet the admission deadline, the test should be taken no later than two weeks prior to deadline. The official GMAT score must be forwarded directly to the UNLV Department of Business Administration. GMAT scores are valid for five years.

The GMAT web site provides information on how to register and prepare for the GMAT. You may want to check your local area for additional test preparation resources.

Retaking the GMAT Should you decide to retake or are requested to retake the GMAT, please notify the MBA Office of your intended test date. Your highest test score will be considered for the admission process.

If you have taken or scheduled the GMAT prior to submitting your application, please do indicate the score and date scheduled or taken. You may submit the unofficial GMAT scores to the MBA office during the application process; however, official copies of the GMAT must be submitted to the UNLV MBA Programs Office.

Nevada Residency Status

In order to obtain Nevada residency, you must download the residency application and submit it along with the required supporting documentation by the first day of the semester in which you are applying for residency. Residency is determined by the Graduate College, not the MBA programs office.

International students are not considered a Nevada resident unless they have resided in the state for at least one year and currently have an alien resident card (green card). If you have a student visa, you are not considered a resident of Nevada and will be charged out-of-state tuition. An international student fee will also apply.
